Walnut wood signs reak of luxury and have some of the most beautiful grain of any North American wood...if we don't say so ourselves.
It's lighweight with good hardness and easy workability, making it an excellent choice for premium signs. At time of order, please note how much color shift you are OK with. A normal batch of signs will look very similar, but expect some darker and lighter pieces. For dimensional letters, we either cut each word from a continous piece of wood for the ultimate in uniformity, or carefully select pieces to achieve a similar effect.
For those wanting to embrace the beauty of this material, we can also use select pieces featuring 1) swirly grain where two limbs split, 2) light color sapwood, often always on the left or right of a project, and of course rift, quater or plain sawn sawn material.
Walnut wood room signs are typically 0.5" to 0.75" thick, with more prominent signs often using material up to 1.5" finished thickness.
